L’Afrique Market is an upscale African grocery store that includes authentic, hard to find ingredients from Africa, Caribbean, within the US and the world.

We are open to every person for all shoppings from Fruits and Vegetables, meat & dairies, Rice, Spices and Seasonings to Packaged items, Beverages, Personal consideration items, – we have everything.. At Lafrique Market, we believe grocery shopping is more than an errand. That’s why it’s our pledge to always go above and beyond. Here, we think like the customer, not about the customer.

The mission of L’Afrique Market is to provide Chicago residents and visitors with a combination of quality, authentic, hard to find grocery items with good service and a pleasant atmosphere with the warm feel of African origin. Our store’s motto is, “Motherland shopping experience.” Gift baskets are also available in the store and over the internet.

We also make available most of the recipes used in the preparation of African foods, which will also highlight the grocery items sold in our store.

Chicago’s south side residents and many visitors have expressed the desire for a local African store in the area. Here at L’afrique Market, we have made alliances with local farmers for fresh produce and will give customers a combination of “shopping local” and wide condiment selection previously unavailable in this area.

For Chicago’s residents, L’afrique market offers a more convenient and appealing option than lugging groceries back from infrequent trips to the other side of the city especially during the winter.

We accept EBT, SNAP or any government assistance program for the low-income families as another way of outreaching and forming a bond with every family in the area. We also offer curbside and deliveries at an additional low cost.
